Well, we are well on our way to an almost finished room. At this point, insulation has been put up and drywall is up and primed. It is so exciting to see this room come together, we love how everything looks. So does Albert this window has become his favorite place in the house.
The Windows has also all been installed & is ready for trim. These black windows are still my favorite part of this house. So happy we decided on black framed windows, to believe we almost went with white frames. Also “that Light”, although no fully installed is still amazing. Love the black cast iron with gold accents & Edison bulb (how can you go wrong with an amazing Edison bulb). When we finish there will be three of these beauties hanging over our yet to be made dining room table.
Jerry has also gotten the wood stove up and running and beautifully framed by black stone. Tip for all those putting wood stoves in the tiles we ended up with are porcelain made to look like slate stone. I preferred going with porcelain which is much more durable as slate deteriorates much faster. Especially in the application of a wood stove where (knowing how clumsy I am) will drop wood & sweep the stone frequently. Jerry and I would also like to say thank you to our very wonderful family friends Barb & Dan for the beautiful wood stove. Barb & Dan generously gave us this wood stove that they did not have a use for. We are so thankful to have it up and running keeping us toasty warm, as well as creating an awesome visual addition to the house.
I would personally like to say thank you for the wonderful feedback from family, friends & wonderful followers. I would also like to thank all who have contacted me to have a custom stereo shelf built. Unfortunately, I cannot fulfil any orders at this time as Jerry and I have had to put our renovations into high gear. The upstairs will need to be completely torn down & rebuilt by August. Can’t have our newest addition sleeping in the living room, not to mention there’s no room lol.
Best Wishes Heather
