Hey all, so it's been a super long time since I have posted any updates, it been a busy 6 months. Jerry and I are thrilled to announce that our baby Meredith has arrived. Now that Meredith is napping and I am currently on mat leave its about time I gave you a preview of the work that's been done.
Jerry and his wonderful family came up and tore the existing roof and second floor off the house. it was a massive undertaking considering the original owners never took anything off the house they just put material on top of the old material. They ended up having to cut the roof off piece by piece.
After the roof was removed the fun part began because we are working with a log cabin under the one area we needed to level out where we are building on. To level out the logs, they had to use a chainsaw to cut the logs level and crosscheck with the other side of the cabin to make sure once the walls go up the roof would be level.
once this was done Jerry and his family was able to frame the house, board it up and place tyvex on. along with framing the house, the steel roof was installed.
The house is finally looking like a house from the outside now. Can't wait till we start on the board and batten then it will really start looking like a finished product and not such a shambled mess.
it's now been over a year since Jerry and I moved into our home and we have made some huge progress. Yes, we are still camped out in our living room, alongside with our little one Meredith, but we have a new second floor framed and boarded in. AHHHH Can you believe it!!!!
